Oregon Notary Public in Central Beaverton
Matthew House has been an Oregon Notary Public since 2017.
He provides no-cost notary services to divorce mediation clients during and after mediation
Matthew has found that being able to provide immediate notary services during mediation has calmed clients' nerves and restored their trust in each other -- or at least it has not required them to rely on trust alone. Somewhat regularly, one spouse asks the other to commit to something in writing. Having Matthew there to draft and notarize even the simplest agreement provides instant peace of mind. It could be as brief as a single short paragraph.
Notary Services During Mediation
Notarizing the Marital Settlement Agreement
Matthew often recommends that clients have him notarize the Marital Settlement Agreement. This step is particularly important if there will be a pause between mediation and filing.
Free Notary Services for Current and Former Mediation Clients
If you are a current or former mediation client of Matthew House and you have a document that you need to have notarized, Matthew will be glad to help you free of charge. You will need to make an appointment, but his flexible scheduling for mediation also applies to notary services.
Notary services for current and former clients are always free of charge, but they are offered subject to the same limitations that apply to non-clients. Please note the section below ("Oregon Notary Public Services for Non-Clients") to note the specifications of the documents that Matthew will notarize.
If you are not a mediation client of Matthew House, you may request notary services. Matthew has limited availability to perform notary services for non-clients.
Matthew's fee for notary services for non-clients is $10 per notarial act, which is the amount allowed under Oregon law. A notarial act is the use of the notary stamp. Most documents require only a single stamp and signature.
Please also be aware that the document that you are seeking to have Matthew notarize must include a notarial certificate as part of the document. A portion of the text of the document must be on the page that contains the notarial certificate. For example, if it is a three-page document, the notarial certificate cannot be the only text on the third page. Matthew will not notarize a "loose" certificate attached to a document, nor will he choose a certificate for you. It must already be included when you present it to Matthew.
