Consultation

Every potential mediation client of Matthew House begins the process with one of two forms of consultation. One is a free 30-minute meet-and-greet, limited in duration and scope. The other is a 90-minute full introduction with free first hour.

BG Plaza is a two-story office building (painted yellow and burgundy), behind Thai Bloom and Westgate restaurants. The restaurants and office building are two separate structures at the same address. The BG Plaza driveway is on Westgate Drive, across from Goodwill.

​Free parking is available in the BG Plaza parking lots. The exterior doors (except the one facing Rose Biggi Avenue) are unlocked on weekdays from 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The North Entrance (at the left end of the covered walkway in front of the building) is the most direct entrance. It is marked with a black sign near the door, and there is a bench by the door.

BG Plaza is a C-shaped building with a single hallway that curves several times. If your meeting is in Matthew's office, you will find the stairs and elevator near the vending machines and Suite 167. Once you are on the second floor, Matthew's office is to the right and two doors down (Suite 271).

Matthew's office is arranged like a living room. If you would prefer a conference table, Matthew can reserve the shared conference room. Also, if you have mobility concerns, the conference room is on the first floor and allows for easier maneuvering.

Consultations and mediation sessions via Zoom are available and encouraged. The only exception is the meetings with teens and pre-teens, which always take place in Matthew's office.

Flexible Scheduling

Matthew House offers the most flexible scheduling of any Portland-area divorce mediator.

He is available as early as 8:30 a.m. and as late as 8:30 p.m., but not 12 hours per day.

Each weekday, Monday through Friday, is either a morning-afternoon calendar (8:30 a.m to 5:30 p.m.) or afternoon-evening (12:00 to 9:00 p.m.), and it varies week to week. Appointments Monday through Friday may be scheduled via Zoom or in person, however you prefer.

Matthew is available, via Zoom, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. two Saturdays per month, by request. He is available Sunday afternoons (1:00 to 5:00 p.m.), via Zoom, if no other day and time would work for you.
